FRONT MOUNTED CHILD SEAT

Front Child seat - Co-Rider

Please allow at least 30 minutes for the first fitting of the seat to your bike and to famialirise yourself with the seat and its construction.

Once fitted correctly the Co-Rider can be removed and re-fitted in minutes each time in the perfect position for maximum comfort for both yourself and your child.

Please read all the instructions AND the warning before starting the fitting of the seat. Co-Rider Fitting Instructions.pdf

FITTING THE CLAMP

1. The main clamp is pre-assembled to the Co-Rider. To fit to a bicycle with cables running along the top tube remove the clamp completely and place the top part of the clamp under your cables.

Attach the lower part of the clamp and re-attach it to the side plates. Bikes without top tube mounted cables require only the removal of the lower section of the clamp and NOT its removal from the side plate.

2. Only hand tighten the 4 Hex bolts at this stage as you may need to slide the clamp up or down the top tube to obtain the best position for the seat.

  1. 1.3.You may find it easier to fit the 4 main hex bolts if you lift the rear of the seat for easier access.

ADJUSTING THE SEAT

4. Adjust the position of the seat for optimal fit ensuring the top of the seat is horizontal.

5. Move the seat forward so the front of the moulded seat surrounds the headset. Please note that the seat should be close enough to prevent little fingers being trapped, but should NOT touch the steering stem as this will stiffen the steering of the bicycle and could damage the seat.

  1. 6.When satisfied with the position tighten all hex bolts using the supplied Allen key, checking the position of the seat has not moved and that it properly centered over the frame.

FITTING THE LEGSHIELDS

7. The leg-shields are secured in place by a single hex bolt on each side. Adjust the angle of the leg-shield so the footplate is horizontal. Please note that the leg-shields can be adjusted by +- 3 degrees to increase clearance of the front wheel and forks. Please ensure the radial teeth on the legshield and seat base are fully engaged before final tightening.

8. Once fitted turn your handlebars from side to side to ensure the front wheel does not catch on the footplate. If your bike is fitted with suspension forks, test again while compressing the forks. If the front wheel continues to catch the wheel loosen the clamp and side plates and adjust to fit the seat higher on the bike. DO NOT use the seat if the front wheel catch the seat in any way during the normal range of movement.

9. When happy with the position of the Co-Rider and having checked it does not interfere with the normal operation of the bike, check and ensure all bolts and fasteners are tight and secure and that the seat will NOT move.

FITTING THE HANDLEBARS

10. Your Co-Rider comes with 2 individual handlebars, fitted with textured, warm touch rubber non-slip grips.

11. Fitting the handlebars is simply a case of attaching each bar using the 2 part clamp and 2 hex bolts. Position the bars either side of your steering stem and directly above the main handlebars.

12. Ensure the Co-Rider bars do not obscure or interfere with your brakes or gears and are tightened enough to prevent any movement.
